Little Moments of Love

Little moments of love

Noemi Blumberg and Lodewick Prompers live life in the fast lane. These two successful lawyers – she in Corporate M&A, he in Competition Law – kindly shared their love story with us and how they make time on Sundays to celebrate meaningful moments together.

It is a sunny but icy cold Sunday morning when we ring the bel at Noemi and Lodewick’s New York style city condo in the center of Antwerp. Antwerp is known to be open-minded, stylish and suited for go-getters. Noemi and Lodewick clearly fit this description.

Their story

They met each other while studying an LLM in New York in 2010, which they refer to as their “Mercer Street Love Story”. Attracted by each other’s drive (and without doubt classic good looks) they fell in love and got married in a dreamy wedding ceremony in Maastricht in 2016. About a year ago they extended their family of two with Molly, a black Labrador, who since then has obliged them to make time for something else than work. “When we come home from a busy day at work, Molly, always ridiculously happy, forces us to put our feet back on the ground. Taking her out for a walk in the evening is the best way to let go.”

Besides being successful lawyers, they both have a busy social life and side projects which demand time. Noemi is a co-founder of Mizbiz, a network organizing networking events for professional women, and Lodewick is an active round table member. “At times it can be tough to balance everything and find enough time to spend with each other. That is why Sundays are so important to us.”

Meaningful Sunday Moments

Sundays are about winding down. “Our perfect Sunday means sleeping a bit later (9-ish) and having an extended breakfast at home. We go to the bakery, get fruits, and Lodi makes eggs “Lodi style” (his only, but unbeatable cooking specialty).”

Noemi makes sure the house looks cozy with candles and fresh flowers, which she gets from the Saturday market in Antwerp. They read the news – he typically goes for De Tijd, after she has stolen the section ‘Ondernemen’. Noemi also likes the weekend editions Standaard Magazine, Sabato and De Morgen Magazine. Their favorite Spotify playlist is Coffeehouse.

Your love story is defined by the big moments,
but the magic is in the little moments.

Afterwards they take Molly out for a walk to Butchers, their favorite coffee bar just down the road, and have an amazing cappuccino with oat milk. Butchers is known for being international and relaxed. Noemi and Lodewick clearly feel at home there.

Favorite Elliot & Ostrich design

Noemi likes green, so much is obvious. She hesitates between the Okavanga bracelet and the Tsavo cocktail ring. “I have never worn much jewellery other than my engagement and wedding ring, mostly because I always found it too present on me. E&O, however, is exactly what I have been looking for: it is handmade, elegant and so very refined. Jennifer manages to create minimalist pieces that make a statement at the same time: the perfect balance”.

Thank you Noemi and Lodewick for letting us have a glimpse into your Sunday moments. We wish you a loving & happy future.

Because the most important thing about a piece of jewellery is the person who gifted it or the reason why…
